Meeting. RECAPPED!

Greetings and salutations!

Here's what was discussed at last night's meeting.
  • The promotion and implementation of the compostable campaign in the Underground food court is still a work in progress and once Dining Services informs us of the official date of implementation we'll let y'all know. Until then all shifts are the sign-up are once again postponed. Sorry, for the constant rescheduling.
  • This website is going to be more of a resource than in previous years with blog posts of meeting reminders, recaps, and updates, a calendar of events, and member resources. So check it out and stay connected with EIC by visiting the site frequently.
  • EIC is getting into shape! We're planning on having an intramural soccer team as well as competing in the SGA dodgeball tournament. If you're interested at all in joining either contact Jakob! Our first intramural game is this Sunday at 3:45pm so come on out and play if you'd like to join our team! Bring your friends if you want as well because it's not EIC-exclusive!
  • Colin and Alex had a nifty Eco Moment about Energy discussing energy concerns, resources, sources, and ways to stay environmental friendly in regards to energy. Attached is their Powerpoint presentation if you would like to revisit it.
  • Subcommittees worked on projects such as fundraising for Earthday, planning our flower bed outside Evans, working to unify recycling on campus, and planning for the movie screening. We also had a mini Green Fund group come up with ideas and are working on a proposal. There will be a meeting for those interested in working on a Green Fund proposal on Friday at 3pm in Poor Yorick's coffee shop.

Applications and dues were both due yesterday. If you have yet to do either or would like to become a member please contact Jakob Rosenberg, Director of Membership.

Important dates:
- Our committee retreat is Saturday, February 19th from 3pm to 7pm. You must pay dues and submit and application to attend.
- Our movie screening of "The Idiot Cycle" will be March 22nd in lieu of a meeting.
- The Big Event is March 26th and we'll have an EIC group volunteering that day!

Have a great week!

Meeting Rundown!

Hello!

Here's what was discussed at last night's meeting for those of y'all who couldn't make it!

Alex Saltzman and Jakob Rosenberg gave an Eco-Moment on pollution. If you'd like to learn more about pollution / what was talked about, attached is the powerpoint presentation.

We brainstormed possible proposal ideas for the Aggie Green Fund so we could help implement more sustainable programs at Texas A&M.

Subcommittees formed for a preview session to talk about what they would like to accomplish this semester. Next week, we'll be jumping right in and getting to work on what was discussed in each subcommittee.

Meeting tonight!

Tonight we're going to get the semester rolling with our weekly meeting in our new room for the semester, Rudder 402, at 8pm!

The agenda includes:

--- Announcements about what's new!
--- An Eco-moment from Alex Saltzman and Jakob Rosenberg on the topic of pollution!
--- Brainstorming for a possible Aggie Green Fund proposal! So, think of some cool green ideas you might want to implement at A&M!
--- Subcommittee time! If you're unsure what subcommittee time is or what a subcommittee is, we will discuss all about it at the meeting!
