FAQs

How do I join EIC?
You can join us by simply coming to our meetings and attending our events.

Is there an application?
There is no application for a membership in EIC. We only conduct an informal interview at the start of the semester.

When can I join EIC?
You can join EIC any time you want! We get members that join EIC throughout the semester.

What does EIC do throughout the year?
At the beginning of the semester, we organize a retreat for the committee where we get to know about our members in a relaxed, social setting.

We have meetings every Tuesday to which all are invited to attend. We bring speakers to our meetings (from faculty and administration or from outside) who give presentations and have discussions with the committee about environmental issues of their choice.

A description of some of our key programs can be found in the projects page. We also commit to many other programs and events throughout the semester.

To learn about some of our past projects, check out the archives page and to keep track of our upcoming meetings and events, check out our calendar.

Where can I take my recyclables if I live on campus?
The Physical Plant provides recycling containers for paper and aluminum cans that are stationed in most buildings on campus.

If you have more recyclables like carboard and ink cartridges, you can take them directly to the Recycling Center on South College Avenue near Hensel Park.

If you have a lot of recyclables (like that #1 and #2 plastic), you can bring them by to our bi-monthly Curbside Recycling Drives.

What is being done to expand recycling on campus?
An Open Letter to Aggies about Recycling.

Where can I find more information on environmental issues and organizations here and around Texas A&M?
We have many resources on our website that can help you find you are looking for, including a variety of links and books.
