  • Use compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs)
    • CFLs use 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs
    • CFLs last up to 10 times as long as incandescent bulbs

  • Adjust your thermostat
    • Experts recommend 78F or higher in the summer and 68F or lower in the winter
    • For each one degree you adjust towards the outdoor temperature, energy savings increases by 2%
    • Close windows and doors when your air conditioner or heater is on
    • Use fans to circulate air and to heat or cool more comfortably
    • Maintain your air conditioner and replace the filter as recommended
    • Use shades, blinds, and curtains to reduce heat let into your living space
  • Recycle plastics and paper
  • Use a reusable water bottle
    • Use with a filter pitcher for great tasting water
    • Save money, reduce plastic use
  • Turn it off
    • Turn off your computer or put it into standby when not in use
    • Turn off lights when you leave the room
