In order to raise support within the student body for the Renewable Energy Policy, Clean Energy Now! was formed. Students showed their support for the initiative by signing petitions beginning the night of the kick-off concert which EIC co-sponsored with MSC Town Hall featuring Sheryl Crow and organizer Laurie David as a part of the Stop Global Warming College Tour. Within a few weeks, thousands of petitions were signed which led to support legislation being drafted and passed within the Student and Faculty Senate in the fall of 2007.
